The security coordination plan set out guidelines for action for the various organisations, services and structures involved in civil protection operations, drafted according to the principles of coordination and effectiveness.

Social Innovation & Methodology
A collaborative, participatory approach among the entities involved in the security plan encouraged dialogue on critical issues and joint, coordinated efforts to prevent incidents and improve security at mass events, in crowded areas, in public spaces, and in risk management.
The plan also prioritised public awareness through information campaigns that fostered preparedness, cultivated a culture of self-protection, and integrated individuals into the emergency response framework.
Outcomes and Impact
With an estimated 125,000 visitors over the two nights, the 2024 edition of White Night was one of its most attended events to date, and the plan was implemented smoothly and successfully.
Sustainability
The White Night event in Oliveira de Azeméis has been held since 2012, running smoothly ever since without any incidents affecting the crowds attending.
