CO-SECUR prepares for Long-Term Sustainability through the CO-SECUR Alliance

A shared commitment beyond the project

The CO-SECUR Project reached a significant milestone on the 21st of May 2026 during its 6th in-person plenary meeting in Vilnius, Lithuania. During the meeting, consortium members signed a Letter of Intent formalising their commitment to continue collaborating beyond the end of the project.

The Letter of Intent, which had been shared with partners ahead of the meeting, was revisited and discussed collectively in Vilnius to ensure a shared understanding of its objectives and key provisions. The discussion highlighted the partners’ common ambition to build on the achievements of the CO-SECUR project and explore opportunities for future cooperation.

Building a lasting European network

The signing ceremony brought together representatives from Kveloce (ES), SHINE 2Europe (PT), the University of Valencia (ES), Safer Globe (FI), the German-European Forum for Urban Security (DE), European Integrated Project (RO), Evalu (PL), Tero (EL), Smart Continent (LT), and DIGITALEUROPE (BE), who formally endorsed the Letter of Intent.

More than a symbolic gesture, the agreement lays the foundations for a lasting network that will continue to promote dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration around the innovative approaches and good practices developed throughout the CO-SECUR project. Initially bringing together the current consortium partners, the network is envisioned as an open platform that may expand over time to include additional organisations interested in advancing socially innovative approaches to urban security.

By formalising this shared commitment, the Alliance aims to ensure that the project’s results continue to generate impact beyond its official conclusion, fostering cooperation and supporting the further development and dissemination of responsible and innovative security solutions across Europe.

Looking ahead

The Vilnius meeting marks an important step towards securing the long-term sustainability of the CO-SECUR community and maintaining momentum around the project’s mission of co-creating safer and more trusted public spaces.
